We have just released the 2021 harvested kalamata olives and we couldn't be happier with the result. Being naturally fermented and also so fresh, they are full of flavour. It is worth noting that there is always a flavour difference when we release the new season olives, due to the fact that the natural olive flavour and bitterness reduces (into the brine) over time. As a result the fresh release always carries more flavour and bitterness than the same olives from the previous season (18 months on). For us this is a seasonal difference worth celebrating, but if you prefer your olives milder in flavour, then maybe consider waiting until October before ordering your next batch of organic kalamatas.
Mount Zero Organic Kalamata olives are medium/large in size. They have a firm flesh, complex olive flavour and finish with a delicious bitterness. Kalamata olives are the classic table olive variety and are also fantastic in salads. Brine curing leaves these olives ensures the characteristic fruitiness of the Kalamata is preserved.
